"The Rock"
Built in 1970 the original firehouse is now occupied by BCBPD. It started out as just a one bay station with just enough room for the fire truck and room for some gear. In 1981 when the first Paid firefighter was hired, living quarters including a kitchen, bunk room, and living area was added. 1984 saw more renovations with a second bay and more living quarters for the three firefighters per shift. Early 1992 saw the construction of the new firehouse, just two blocks from the original location. Station 1 is a five bay firehouse with full kitchen, living area, workout room, chief offices, and a bunk room that can sleep up to 26 personel. Station 1 is now home to Engine 1, Brush 1, Truck 1, and Battalion 1. Along with a Reserve engine, Engine 6 , and reserve brush truck.
Engine 1" Get Some"
E1 is a 2007 Pierce Enforcer ALS equipped pumper, it has a 1500 GPM pump, 750 gallon water tank, it is equipped with extrication equipment and water rescue gear. Engine 1's name comes from long time Lt. of engine 1. Any time he rolled up to a working fire he could be heard saying "Get some Boys!". He passed away just before the new engine was finished.
Truck 1 "The Wicked Stick of the Westside"
T1 runs this 2010 Pierce Velocity 100' quint, it has a 1500 GPM pump, 400 gallon water tank, and carries 1000' of LDH. It also has hydraulic rescue equipment, trench rescue, high/low angle, and water rescue gear.
Brush 1
Brush 1 is a 2003 Ford F550 with E-One bodywork, it is equipped with a 300 gallon water tank, ALS gear, and water rescue gear.
Engine 6 "Second to None"
Engine 6(Ex E-2) is a 1991 Pierce Lance. It has a 1250 GPM pump, has 500 gallons of water and seating for 10 firefighters.
